Pretty good, liked the music! But acting needed some work.
Well the guy being questioned was crazy, so you could write up his wooden performance to the guy being cold and inhuman.
Pretty good! Maybe it was just me, but the music seemed to die at strange points, but it wasn't overly distracting.
Hey thanks for picking us Wesley, i hope you guys all liked it
i hated it. the acting was horrible for one. the guy being questioned was monotone and sometimes missed a line and u just left it in the film. get another take when that happens, or dont make the damn movie. the effects were bad, the camera work was sloppy, and it looked like it needed to be de-interlaced or something cuz of the lines whenever something moved. the script and editing were also both done very poorly. so this is my question, what in the hell else was submitted that was so bad that this was the winner?
hey sdaf, thanks for the criticism and im sorry you didnt like the movie but just to stick up for myself, this movie was not meant to be 5 minutes but i cut it down so i could enter it here, thus, ALOT of important lines and clips were taken out, and i know the acting isnt great, its basically my friends who have never acted before trying it out for fun.And i couldnt use the music frommy longer version because it didnt fit in so i made some quick stuff in garageband...
that is all.
Hey guys thanks for all the comments and yes we know the acting isnt that great, we really don't have anyone good to use it just are friends.
Nice work!!! Easy to follow, cool ending, music was fitting.
Good acting isn't easy to find when you are a kid so no fault there. Maybe polish the editing a bit. Where indie's don't have money we usually can find time. Spend some time really getting to know your cam, editing software etc. This can increase your production value by %100! Then all you have to worry about is acting because your writing isn't half bad!
It might be worth re-directing the same script with adult actors. I bet you could win some more short contests.
It's a good plot but I agree that the acting let it down.
Here's a tip for those times when you're using a friend as an actor but they're not as good as you hoped.
Obviously you know them, they're a friend after all, so try to make them feel comfortable in the part. Write the script to suit their own personal character, so essentially they're playing themselves. Then rehearse with them, get them used to their lines. This will help your actors to appear more natural.
