I laughed good with frog princess and double standard. solid films. Committed was alright. The editing could've been a little tighter think.
And I really really liked Expiration Date. Best short film that I've seen on the show thus far, my opinion of course!
committed was no good
the acting was too abrupt
people think before they talk
they dont just spurt out words right after a question
like, willyoumarrymeyes
thats what it sounded like
needed to be more pauses
yea thats definetley true, the director probably did it with a "get the lines on tape and my scene is done shooting" mentality.
theres a lack of acting in committed but the premise was alright.
"Committed" is from a somewhat new-to-the-game filmmaker, which is usually what our "indy mogul picks" at the end of the show are all about. What separated his short from the others was a certain darkness (especially the ending).
A lot of the films we showcase are from people who've been doing it a while and have a crew, etc to draw from. We just wanted to make sure we were giving everyone a shot.
Having said that, Expiration Date is a film that was made for nothing with no crew! I'm so happy to see people are responding to it.
You can tell Committed was from a newcomer.
But thats good that their out there making movies, and that they took the time to send their work in. They did their short and I didn't done so props to them.
With practice you get better at everything and that goes for filmmaking as well.
anyways I can't wait to submit something.
